Let's face it the Squat is functional, eg how can you go to the toilet without the capacity to squat? Sadly, there are reasons why we can't squat, some of which are:
- lack of range in the ankle
- poor glute strength
- hip problems
These issues often play out in our old friend the knee. I love to find ways to adapt and modify repertoire and give homework whilst we work towards the full exercise. The reality is that progression is built on intelligent modifications and understanding of biomechanics.
